Culinary Arts

Students will be introduced to a variety of cooking techniques used in food preparation, including knife skills, basic cooking skills and terminology, along with baking techniques. Safety and sanitation practices are also a key component of this hands on lab course. Culinary Arts will be a good mix of both study and kitchen time with a variety of food labs.

Units could include; principles of food preparation, principles of meat cookery, preparing fruits and vegetables, pastas, breads and grains, alternative food choices, career exploration and more.
